The Security Department is the largest department within Paragon Research Institute and is the primary combative force responsible for ensuring the safety & security of all personnel.
This document aims to provide the foundations for understanding the operations of the Security Department as well as provide basic information about the Department.
This section outlines the Chain of Command and the promotional requirements required to achieve each rank within the Security Department.
The Chain of Command should be followed at all times when asking questions or receiving orders:
Overseer > Security Chief > Security Inspector > Security Officer > Security Sentinel > Department Personnel
Security Overseer | O5 Council | (Cap: 1)
The Security Overseer is the department's highest authority, responsible for ensuring the Security Chief is acting in the best interests of the department while overseeing all operations and changes within.

Security Chief | Security Class 4 | (Cap: 1)
The Security Chief is the face of the department and is responsible for any and all operations carried out by the Security Department and its detachments. The Security Chief works closely with the Security Overseer in order to ensure the Security Department is doing well.

Security Inspector | Security Class 3 | (Cap: 4)
Security Inspectors are members of the Security High Command, they are responsible for most administrative work of the Security Department and assist the Security Chief in running the department. They have the ability to issue any punishment.

Security Officer | Security Class 2 | (Cap: 10)
Security Officers are official members of Security Command and are the main administrative and leadership corps of the department. Responsible for issuing L1 to L3 punishments, application reading, and ticket handling. Hosting trainings is an optional duty; administrative duties take priority.

Security Officers have a quota of 1 Hour On-site Activity & 20 Points every month.
Security Sentinel | Security Class 2 | (Cap: 20)
Security Sentinels are the first Command position within the Security Department, considered to be Junior Command and are the responsible assistants to Security Officers. They are the primary training force of the department, also responsible for basic administrative duties such as promotion and database handling.
Command members with [DE] or [IN] are on inactivity notice.
Apply to and pass the Security Academy
Security Sentinels have a quota of 1 Hour On-site Activity & 15 Points every month.
Security Senior | Security Class 1
Security Seniors are veteran members of the Security Department. Those with this rank have the choice to attend the SD Academy without any prerequisites if they wish to progress towards Security Command. Seniors are equipped with much better weaponry and gear compared to other Security Ranks, awarding the veterancy of the rank.
Purchase a Promotion Ticket for 15 Experience Points
Log 16 hours of on-site activity on the Security Department team.
Attend two Patrols
Attend two Trainings
Be a Security Guard for 3 days.
Security Guard | Security Class 1
Security Guards are experienced members of the Security Department. As such, they have more responsibilities than normal Juniors.
Purchase a Promotion Ticket for 10 Experience Points
Log 8 hours of on-site activity on the Security Department team.
Attend one Patrol
Attend one Training
Security Guards applying for the Security Academy only require 4 Experience Points & 2 weeks completed.
Security Junior | Security Class 1
Security Juniors are fully-fledged members of the Security Department, they are able to perform all duties with no restrictions. They are the standard Security Department Rank.
Complete the Orientation Exam
Log 1 hour of on-site activity on the Security Department team.
Attend a Combat Training.
Join the Joint Departmental Discord Server
Pass the Cadet Exam.
Security Cadet | Security Class 0
The entry rank of the Security Department. Security Cadets must go through the Cadet Program before becoming fully-fledged members of the Security Department.
Pass the Security Cadet Application
Experience Points are given to Security Juniors and Security Guards for completing certain on-site tasks. They are required to progress through the ranks, providing necessary experience for future Security Command members.
Security Personnel can earn Experience Points through the following:
Supervising a Cadet escorting a test (Guard+ Only) [2 Points]
Attending a Combat Training [2 Points]
+1 Point for good combat or good communication up to the discretion of the host.
Attending a Patrol [2 Points]
Attending a Patrol but not staying until the end will result in only 1 Point.
3 Hours On-Site Activity within a week [2 Points] - Claimable ONCE per-week
Escorting a Test of any kind [2 Points]
Attending a Combat Training [1 Point]
Responding to a Riot, Breach, or Raid, or Backup Request [1 Point]
Escorting Janitorial or Tours [1 Point]
Security Personnel can stack Experience Points if they complete multiple tasks at once (e.g. A Security Guard escorting and supervising a Cadet during a test can receive 4 points / SD Responding to a Backup Request during a Riot can receive 2 points, etc)
When logging experience point requests for on-site tasks, please ensure you follow the regulations located in Logging Protocol & Backup Responses and Logging Escorts depending on what you're logging or your request will be denied.
Experience Points are logged via the SD Shop on Discord and are used to purchase Promotion Tokens needed for promotion to ranks above Junior. To use the shop, run the following commands in the SD Discord Server.
/shop catalog - Shows what's in the shop, the price of items, and the itemID for each item.
/shop buy - Buys an item from the shop if you have enough points. The itemID must be used when buying.
Once Promotion Tokens have been purchased, you must claim the token in #database_requests and provide your reciptID and a screenshot showing proof of purchase.

I accidentally left the Security Department Discord Server! What do I do?
If you have left the Security Department Discord Server, please make a Department ticket in under 72 hours. When creating your department ticket, ensure you have check marked these four bullet points.
Stated the name of the Discord User that left the Server in the ticket.
Stated the name of the Roblox Account tied to the Security Department in the ticket.
Provided an Image in the ticket that proves ownership of the Roblox Account tied to the Security Department. (Preferably an Image of the Roblox Home Screen)
Ensured that the Roblox Account is still inside the Security Department Group
Why can't I rejoin if I left the SD Roblox group?
Tracking the date someone leaves a Roblox group is much more difficult in tracking compared to the discord server, due to this. All users are expected to keep their Roblox account protected.
I did not receive an Invite to the department discord after being accepted, what do I do?
Create a ticket with an image displaying that you've been accepted under 72 hours.
Ensure that you state your Roblox Username and Discord Username within the ticket.
Can I use my previous hours for requirements if I leave and rejoin the Security Department?
If you leave and rejoin the Security Department, you'll have to start from scratch.
