The Cadet Guide is intended as a practical guide and reference tool. It consolidates existing policies and procedures for ease of access and clarity. No new directives or regulations are introduced and Security Cadets are still expected to read all documentation.
The following will explain to cadets what the Cadet Program is and how to complete it in detail.
The Cadet Program is the first step of a newly inducted Cadet, the program is needed to be completed in order to advance further into the Security Department and get the rank of Junior.
The Cadet Program consists of 6 separate tasks.
Pass the Cadet Orientation Exam
This will allow the Cadet access to the Security Department team and allow them to deploy on-site.
Join the Joint Departmental Discord Server
Cadets must join the Joint Departmental Server to allow for better communication with other departments.
Gain 1 Hour of On-Site Activity
This task can only be completed after the Orientation Exam has been completed.
Run /activity fetch in the SD Discord to view your total time on-site.
Pass Combat Training
This provides Cadets with limited first-hand experience and practice with Paragon's combat system.
Pass a Field Exam
Field Exams require Cadets to participate in and pass multiple mock scenarios of things you are likely to encounter on-site.
Pass the Cadet Exam
This task can only be completed after all other tasks have been completed.
All tasks can be done in any order unless otherwise stated.
All tasks are to be logged in #database_reports under the [SD] UTILITY category in the discord.
After all tasks have been completed/passed, you are to send a promotion request in #promotion_requests which can be found under [SD] Utilities in the discord.
Below are quick bullet points with pictures of certain locations around the site. This does not include every location, just ones that cadets need to know. Cadets are still expected to explore the site in the SD Private Server on their own time to get a better idea of the other locations.
Security Headquarters
The Security Headquarters is where Base SD and SRU spawn.
Inside is Coach, the Security Vendor. He will supply you with all the equipment that you may need to conduct your duties on-site.
The Vendor is where you can buy new weapons and equipment; refer to Section VIII of the Security Guidelines for more information.
The Security Garage downstairs is where you are able to spawn in vehicles for transport.
Anomalous Containment Hub "The Pit"
Often abbreviated as "ACH" or "The Pit";
The Anomalous Containment Hub houses the:
Light Containment Zone
Medium Containment Zone
Only reasons to enter should be for testing or pursuing a hostile Class-D Subject. You must have MTF permission to enter.
This area is under the authority of Mobile Task Force, Eta-9 "Wardens."
Civil Sector Road Gate
Located in the Civil Sector Tunnel separating the Hamilton Office Complex and Administrative Complex from the rest of the site.
Should a breach be called, all civil personnel are to be evacuated to the Hamilton Office Complex.
Should the breached SCP be spotted heading towards the Civil Sector, the gate is to be closed.
Restricted to Security Guard+
Hamilton Office Complex
The Hamilton Office Complex (HOC) serves as the Civil Sector, housing the Blast Doors, Breach Shelter, Medical Bay, Cleanrooms/Loading Bay, and the Scientific Department Labs.
HOC has two entrances, as shown in the pictures above.
During emergency protocols (Riot, Breach, Raid, etc), all civil personnel are to be escorted here.
HOC Blastdoor(s)
Often abbreviated as "BD";
Should a breach be called, all civil personnel are to be evacuated behind the two blast doors.
The BDs should only be closed if the SCP passes the Civil Sector Road Gate.
Controls are located under the desk (red button) behind the Primary BD.
The button controls both Blast Doors.
Breach Shelter
Often abbreviated as "BS";
Should an SCP make it past the HOC BDs, the Breach Shelter is to be closed.
Controls are located in the Security Room at the top of the stairs.
Cleanrooms
Often abbreviated as "CR”;
This is where non-sentient SCP tests are conducted;
SD may enter CR freely, but cannot access the SCP chambers themselves without valid reasoning.
Ensure that Class-Ds are disarmed in the event they set off the Metal Detector, indicated by a red beep.
Loading Bay
Often abbreviated as "LB";
This area is located within the Cleanrooms; therefore is a key protected area SD should prioritize guarding/patrolling.
LB is where the SCP boxes are stored;
SD may not use the SCPs located in LB.
Loading Bay is usually where CDs go when attempting to escape.
SD are permitted freely inside here.
CDC Lobby
The CDC lobby serves as the main entrance to the CDC and CDC Viewing Area.
The stairs lead to the Viewing Area.
The doors to the right of the lobby lead to the Guardline.
The door under the left side of the stairs leads to the Maintenance Tunnel.
Viewing Area
Often abbreviated as "VA" or "CDC VA";
Used by Civil Personnel to view into the CDC.
SD positioned here should be ready to evacuate personnel in the event of a riot/breach;
SD positioned here also prevents hostages from being taken, allowing them to shoot any unauthorized CDs in here.
Inner CDCZ
Located within the CDC is the CDCZ Guardline and Infirmary
Security Cadets cannot enter the Inner CDC and should prioritize guarding the Cleanrooms or patrolling unless:
Authorized by:
Security Guard+.
MTF Specialist+.
Lambda-7 Operative+.
Rise/Riot Protocol is active.
There are fewer than five combative personnel (SD/MTF) guarding the Inner CDC.
CDCZ Guardline
This is where SD guard in the CDCZ;
Strike and Termination guidelines should be followed while present at the Guardline;
While there are no set positions, SD are encouraged to get behind some sort of cover. The Catwalk is prioritized for individuals who own long-range weapons.
Transfer Gates
This is where Class-Ds are briefed before janitorial duties and tests;
SD should use the transfer gates, not the transfer doors, when taking Class-Ds. If possible, request for another SD to operate the gates;
Only one gate should be opened at a time.
There are 2 Transfer Gate Rooms.
Solitary Housing Unit (SHU)
DFSC stands for "Due for Solitary Confinement";
Once a CD has obtained 3 strikes, they are marked as DFSC. Once SD handcuffs them, they are to be brought near the cells to receive a green uniform. They are to be released to the main CDCZ afterwards.
Once a CD has obtained 4 strikes, they should be left in a cell.
Located next to the Guard Line on the right side of the CDC near the Transfer Gates.
Maintenance Tunnel
Accessed via the Security Door under the staircase to the Viewing Room.
The Maintenance Tunnel connects to the CDC Infirmary and the Inner CDC.
Security Personnel are encouraged to use this tunnel to flank hostile Class-D's attacking the Guardline and to access the Security Outpost.
Proceed straight through the tunnel until you reach a metal walkway; going right leads to the Guardline/Inner CDC. Heading straight up the stairs leads to the Security Outpost.
Security Outpost & Gates
The Security Outpost is located further in the CDC. The outpost contains ammo and medical supplies.
Gates (Control Panel Left) can be used by Security Senior+ and Detachments during riot protocol.
Class-D's are not allowed on the metal walkways this side of the outpost and should be terminated.
The Outpost is located within the CDC deadzone and should be accessed via the Maintenance Tunnel when outside of combat.
(Refer to Section IV > Area Restrictions for more information on Deadzones)
During normal operations, Cadets should be positioned in these areas around the site. Cadets are not expected to stay in one location and may move freely to different positions or patrol around the site.
Cadets positioned in public areas may interact with Civil personnel and non-hostile SCPs. These interactions should be kept mature and respectful, regardless of whoever it is.
Cleanrooms/Loading Bay
Refer to the previous outlines on the Cleanrooms and Loading Bay for further information.
SD may position themselves at the checkpoint as seen above;
The Military Police have full authority over CR and have the right to ask you to leave.
At maximum 3 SD may be positioned at the Cleanrooms.
Engineering & Technical Sector
Located towards the Right Side of the Map, next to the Dam and Exterior Access Tunnel
SD may ONLY guard the Exterior of ETS
SD can only enter the Warehouse and the rest of the ETS building if a Hostile is inside.
SD may NOT enter the lower levels via the elevator. (Dam Cr, Turbine Hall)
The Military Police and ETS Command have full authority over the ETS Sector and have the right to ask you to leave.
In Paragon Research Institute, there are many SCPs that roam freely around the site. This should not raise any alarm so long as the SCP does not become hostile; in which MTF Eta-9 should be called to deal with it. Below are some regulations when interacting with any non-hostile SCPs:
Only interact with SCPs if they interact with you first
Maintain normal positions/patrols otherwise
Do not participate in crowding around the SCP
Interactions should not get in the way of duties/assignments of the SCP or escorting Eta-9.
Interactions should be respectful and mature and should not in any way be used to entice the SCP into committing a malicious act
Do not attack any SCPs whatsoever;
The only exception is SCP-662 “Mr. Deeds” when he is considered "hostile".
Hostile is defined as Deeds actively attacking facility personnel and/or aiding Class-D's and other hostiles.
SCP-049-2 may not be shot at unless authorized by MTF Eta-9.
SCP-035 may not be shot at unless authorized by MTF Eta-9 or is breached.
Certain SCPs are usually guarded by MTF Eta-9, meaning they are able to exercise their authority to dismiss you. Maintain a reasonable distance away from the SCP.
For more information on certain SCPs, visit the Paragon Science Hub
The list below are good communication etiquettes to follow while on-duty.
Use /team for team chat to communicate with fellow members of SD.
Use /combative for combative chat to communicate with SD & MTF.
Use /whisper to communicate with an individual member in private..
Pressing T will enable the radio. The microphone will be highlighted green when it is on.
Pressing H will hide/bring up the radio.
Use /e before your message to send the message without it appearing in chat. Useful for communicating over the radio.
Ex: "/e 5 armed CDs in LB".
Alternatively, chatting in /team or /combative can be used to the same effect.
Abbreviate whenever possible. Effectively communicate by sending only crucial information.
Ex;
Cleanrooms --> CR
Hamilton Office Complex --> HOC
Ex: "5 CDs CR".
When speaking in public chat, use grammar. You are not expected to speak using perfect grammar, just enough to not seem incompetent.
Team chat does not require grammar
Do not be immature over public chat, especially in front of Class-Ds.
Send information to the appropriate radio channels. Do not communicate strategic information over staff radio, instead, send it in the combative radio.
Friendlies
Mobile Task Forces
The Mobile Task Forces (MTF) serve as Paragon's second combative department and an elite force with three task forces, each specializing in a certain field of expertise the Security Department cannot handle itself. Security Personnel should not obstruct MTF's duties unless specifically requested to.
Lambda-7 - L7 is the MTF's version of SRU; L7 specialises in combat, specifically countering raids, raiders, and larger-scale hostile threats such as juggernauts. Because of this L7 holds the highest authority during Raids.
Eta-9 - Eta-9 or E9 are the primary recontainment experts at Paragon. Outside of recontainment, they are tasked with preventing breaches through guarding the ACH and escorting SCPs around the site. Eta-9 holds the highest authority during breaches and has total authority over the Anomalous Containment Hub.
Delta-1 - D1 acts as Paragon's answer to the Secret Service. Their primary objective is ensuring the safety of The Administrator, O5 Council, and Board of Directors (SC-4s) through close protection (bodyguarding) when they are on-site. They are highly trained due to the importance of their duty. D1 has complete authority over areas they are actively guarding SC-4+ personnel and Security Personnel are not to obstruct Delta-1 while they are guarding.
UN Global Occult Coalition
The UNGOC, or simply 'GOC ', is a Foreign Group of Interest (GoI), meaning they are not an official Paragon department, that serves a similar purpose to the Security Department. Their primary purpose is to support the Security Department with their duties.
Hostiles
GRU-P
GRU-P or GRU is the primary hostile force within Paragon. They conduct scheduled raids on Paragon and smaller solo raids with the sole goal of disrupting the site and causing chaos. GRU members should be shot on-site.
Identifying Friendlies & Hostiles §1
Between GOC, MTF, and GRU, some friendlies and hostiles can be harder to identify than others.
In Paragon, the uniforms given out to SD, MTF, and hostiles like GRU-P can look incredibly similar. This is also not helped by the fact that some hostiles and friendlies have similar coloured rank tags on-site as well. It's important that Cadets learn the differences between both sides and that they can identify who is who to prevent friendly fire or hostiles passing unnoticed.
Below are photos showing the general appearance between hostiles and friendlies that are commonly misidentified.
NOTE: Friendlies and Hostiles alike possess many types of uniforms, gear, and headgear, leading to many variations in appearance. Most are not represented below because of that fact, and only the key differences are outlined.
Friendlies
UNGOC - Similar red rank tag to GRU, has a blue helmet or beret for easy identification.
Delta-1 (Autumn Gear) - Similar red rank tag to GRU's detachments, camo pattern is similar to GRU's TTsKO Autumn. Delta generally do not wear headgear.
Hostiles (GRU)
GRU Tiger Stripe BDU
GRU Tigerstripe M65 BDU
GRU TTsKO Autumn - Most similar to Delta-1's Autumn Gear.
GRU Afghanka M88
These are all uniforms given to GRU-P and its detachments. Again, they possess a variety of different vests, helmets, and uniform variations that aren't shown above.
Use /google account link to link your Google account with SCiPNet;
This is particularly important if you wish to achieve SD command or enter into any detachment.
Report any misconduct to a member of SD Command. Do not participate in misconduct yourself.
